 I do hope folks who have lived in "their own home"(The bank/lender owns "your home" until you have made the last mortgage payment)  for over 5 years saw through the ruse being spread around by the 31 year old man who attended Wharton School in Pennsylvania(He did not mention whether he had graduated so we can assume he probably didn't)  Ankur Jain stops short of saying that renting a dwelling is stupid while peddling a credit card that will give you cash back and rewards on most people's largest expense which is their rent.  Mr Jain does not mention the enormous cost of property tax, homeowner's insurance, HOA costs and the inevitable repairs and maintenance that can transform the American Dream into the American Nightmare! Ankur is fatuous enough to conclude that paying a landlord is the same thing at "throwing away your money".   Any discerning reader should be able to see falsehoods are being disseminated to benefit Jain and NOT to help tho...

 I am very confused about the Capitol One Quicksilver 18 month 0% APR Balance Transfer offer. The exact language/terms of the Credit Card Balance transfer is as  follows: 0% for 18 months beginning with the first transfer associated with this offer. After that, you will be charged the APR for Purchases, currently 17.99% variable. Does this mean that any charge/purchase on the 1.5% cash back credit card will incur 17.99% APR immediately OR after 18 months!!!!!???!  Until I get a clear answer from a Capitol One Quicksilver customer service representative, that shiny care will collect dust or get cut up.  Any reviews or commentary would be welcome. 

 One Main Financial Branch Manager Kristi Lueras has some new competition for super high interest rate loans with hefty origination fees. Roswell  native Heather Carrillo appears to be the head honcho of New Mexico Credit Corporation. Heather paid for a newspaper ad which did NOT disclose the interest rate which probably means it is at a usury level. Usury is a polite term for gouge.  While NMCC is not a payday loan business which sometimes have APR of 400%. Yes, you pay back in interest 4 times what you borrow!!!!! Carrillo's fees, charges, and rates must be sky high or she would have put more reasonable/fair rates in the advertisement that appeared in the RDR.   If you apply online or in person, please find out how bad your will be ripped off before signing on the dotted line. A few months Capital One Bank sent us a promotional offer promising they would deposit $450 in our 360 account approximately three months after we deposited $55,000 of new money in the account always maintaining a balance that exceeds 50 K. At the time the interest rate or APR was 1%. The rate has since fallen to 0.6% without any notice from the online bank. At least Amex will notify you they are lowering their rates which are prevailing at 1 per cent(almost twice the earnings rate of Capital One) after being as high as 2.1% pre COVID. If this continues we will just transfer the 55 Grand back to Amex. The Cha Ching of 450 dollar longevity bonus will actually probably keep us from that drastic measure.  BTW Hillbilly Jose Medeiros has a beautiful perspective on dealing with Corona virus as a mountain man. Realtors are prostitutes that just work at a slightly slower pace with sexual favors usually not part of the negotiations.  Car salesmen work faster than both! First thing I wanted to know when I got this email solicitation for a 2.5% fixed rate mortgage was whether is would be OK to have breast intercourse with the bra less washed up actress reduced to doing real estate advertisements.   The ad you see says no hidden fees or points, but that was I lie when I called them and they said it would cost me about $4500 to refi in order to save $80 a month on my mortgage payment! NO THANKS and click! We checked with Michele Lerner who was a ton of help as far as avoiding Re Finance Scams and Rip offs. Read an ad in the Hobbs NM newspaper that had a marketing slogan I had never seen. A realtor named Pattison came up  with the original shill SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO SELL !   Look at the advertisement below to see the old dilapidated haunted house the agent used to humorously get her point across. What is actually more spooky is the fact that COVID-19 is forcing some people to sell their beloved homes when they don't want to!  And the realtors, like a vulture smelling dead flesh, swoop in. Has anybody else been going through a lot of inconvenience and hassle with Citi Accelerate Savings Account? They originally advertised a waive of the $4.50 monthly fee if account holders maintained a balance of $500. Then once we opened the account, they said that we had to do direct deposits of our paycheck in order to not pay any fees!! This was an egregious lie on their part and we spent over 4 hours on the phone and also that cheap piece of crap messaging app where you are talking to a bot and then they finally hook you up with an Asian call center who can't really help you!!! Then they want you to fill out customer satisfaction survey after no service was rendered!!!!!! It gets worse....when we signed up, the APR was 1.85%. Was reading some fascinating online bulletin board IRS sob stories about back taxes owed in various spots in southeastern New Mexico. Some were accounts by Filipinas who had never filed their income tax returns during their teaching careers in the Land of Enchantment! One in either Carlsbad, Artesia, Hobbs, or Roswell owed the IRS around $17000 and was trying to get help with her debt from a place called Optima Tax Relief who specializes in  un-filed tax returns,  bank levies, or anything else involving delinquent tax debt. A Black medical student has obviously been lost in space for the last 3 or 4 years. Russell Ledet didn't seem to be aware that respect for Doctors has declined significantly during this period. I could sense the burnout my doctor was experiencing as he went over the results of my blood work during our last visit. He honestly admits to his patients that insurance companies pretty much dictate the words that come out of his mouth regarding potential treatments and medications. He can not help his patients the way he wants to. Blue Cross Blue Shield only pays for Triglyceride test every other 3 month visit for example. So a previous visit to my overworked and slightly depressed physician revealed a 175 Triglyceride level which is a little high, but the new blood panel did not even include a new Triglyceride level reading. This means after waiting 3 months to see if my dietary changes had helped, I have wait another 3 months!!!! The doctor did not inform me that the Tri reading was not on the printout. Paying property taxes can be a burden on home owners. Home improvements, plumber's bills, appliance replacement/repair, exterminator fees, interior decorating and the costly list continues! So just when you think you are going to be able to save some of that paycheck, here comes that quarterly or every 6 months dreaded property tax bill. Cherry Hill, NJ kindly gives its citizens a 10 day grace period without any delinquency fees or penalties. Chaves County in New Mexico has a 1% penalty PER MONTH which appears to be equivalent to a ONE MONTH GRACE period where no penalties or interest will be charged to the income challenged(poor) citizens of Roswell. We keep getting loan offers based on our current lender's desperate desire to profit from a high interest rate home equity loan. We took out a 4% 30 year mortgage from Pioneer Bank in Hobbs, New Mexico USA around 10 years ago. We never were late on a payment AND they decided to abandon our mortgage, apparently, because we would never apply for a home equity loan from them! We had built up about 40 thousand dollars in equity and they wanted to screw us with a 5% loan for home improvement projects which we DID NOT NEED . We ignored all their snail mail solicitations and they abruptly DROPPED OUR loan by transferring it to Lakeview Loan Servicing, LLC. This outfit was in Pennsylvania.....maybe Philadelphia also located in the United States of America. They did not make it easy for us to transfer from the bank in Hobbs, but when we finally figured it out, then the blood suckers started sending us the same home equity loan offers as Pioneer Bank had done.
