Mild Rants

 The game show host was quite fond of the term ensconce(Establish or settle someone or something in a comfortable, safe, or secret place) to describe a Jeopardy contestant who had a commanding lead.  For example, Ken Jennings who characterized Alex Trebek as tepidly stern, was ensconced in first place going into Final Jeopardy probably around 50 times in his fabled career as a contestant and briefly as a host on the best game show in television history. Alex was the best, but had a few flaws. The biggest flaw was costing the players precious time by adding his commentary after each answer or reminding them there was a minute remaining consuming around 7 seconds of that remaining minute. The first contestant I noticed to aggressively cut off Alex was Arthur Chu. I only mean aggressive in the sense Chu would not let Alex complete his sentence with respect to updates on dollar amounts or adding additional unnecessary commentary to last answer.  A true giver or philanthropist despises public recognition for his gifts and donations to a cause or charity. So it follows that David Chang who played that game on TV where one has to answer 15 questions to win a million USD, was in it just as much for his own fame as he was for trying to really help.  Mr Chang had already answered enough questions to guarantee $500,000 for low paid hospitality workers. The well known comedian host carefully and slowly explained to the chef that if he answered wrong to the "who was the first president to have electrical power?" question, that ONLY $32,000 would be given to restaurant workers deleteriously affected by the pandemic.  The host further emphasized that a wrong answer would result in A $468,000 LOSS TO THE WORKERS IN DESPERATE NEED of financial support!!  Chef Chang then honestly stated he was a Jagoff in school and did not even know Ben Harrison was a president.  The chef blindly guessed based on an uncertain...

 So I liked the ESPN bald headed guy much more in the good old days where his wit and self-deprecating tendencies were actually funny and rather incisive at times. HOWEVER , the way the cat made fun of Abilene Christian University was tasteless and reputation threatening. It was kind of gay the way the ACU football team celebrated a touchdown in a game that was a BLOWOUT against them. Virginia had been trying not to embarrass them any further to make matters worse.  I don't think that Van Pelt had been apprised of the incident involving an ACU male student caught masturbating at the cross town college McMurry. The fact the dude was waxing his carrot in the girls bathroom in the open and trying to time his climax with the females entering the restroom was weird but a neat titillating idea don't you think Scott?

 The tall left handed beetle body shaped pitcher for the Tampa Bay MLB team was livid and pissed off that his manager, a man with surname of Cash, took him out of a playoff game where beetle body lefty had not given up a single run. A medium rolling ground ball hit led to the early ill-advised HOOK  . The former inhabitants of the Astrodome in Houston were down 1-0 when beetle body was replaced by a much less effective pitcher named Diego who gave up 4 crucial runs to the team who was caught in systemic stealing of pitch thrown signs. The team from Texas, where convicted felon George Floyd used to commit crimes like assault with a deadly weapon before  moving to Minnesota to commit more crimes, has a chance to share the record set by the BoSox versus the Yankees when they came back from an 0-3 deficit in a 7 game series.
