H.D. Thoreau did NOT denounce gossip

During Henry's walks in the Village he claimed that gossip taken in homeopathic doses was as invigorating and refreshing as the rustle of leaves and the croaking of frogs in the secluded part of the woods the recluse resided.  This begs the question: What did the word homeopathic mean to the great spiritualist author way back in the 19th century? In other words did Thoreau believe gossip served a good function. The term homeopathy is related to alternative medicine or natural remedies these days, but I sort of think the Walden Pond writer meant "small amounts" of back stabbing gossip were not necessarily bad if it warned the villagers and citizens of evil intent.  I am soooo certain that ELIZABETH WELLINGTON could add much truth and insight to this thread of interest. Also Susan Margolin is no lightweight regarding the potential damaging effects of loose lips in the Concord, Massachusetts region!

1925 Film Connection to our Political Maelstrom

A digitally restored Charlie Chaplin silent film reminded one of the calamitous state of USA politics.  The scene was three guys stuck together in cabin located in Alaska Gold Rush Era. Two of the guys fighting over a gun managed to continuously point the rifle at the other guy. Three guesses on the higher up who symbolizes the gun pointing.  I am certain Scottish female Suzanne Kelly would be able to produce copious Trump bashing metaphors after viewing the silent comedy/drama.  Baltimore newspaper man Richard E. Vatz tries to remain neutral and objective, but finds that is impossible after enumerating multiple instances of our chief executives deranged mindset. I believe Richard soundly refutes the fools who believe COVID deaths are COMPLETELY our beloved leader's fault.

Where is Cowboy

I know something about Eisenstein. The primary character in this heroin addiction movie named Leach stated that light travels at  speed of 186,000 mi./s per second. Shirley Clark’s movie about a bunch of Manhattan junkies living in a loft apartment needed a physics consultant since leach incorrectly used units of acceleration!!! I gave cowboy enough money to keep you guys high for a week now you give me what I want with the cameraman JJ Cowboy staggers in with what appears to be a suitcase full of heroin but it turns out to be just a suitcase with a phonograph playing jazz. Heroin alleviate suffering in this plane of existence. A hula hoop is a Roman symbol of death.Leach has a boil on his neck and is accused of being a homosexual by a black man. Movie or documentary was done in 1962 and the word gay had not been hijacked by homosexuals yet. Leach is a gay orphan. Solly is an intellectual who can read in Greek and Hebrew. The drug supplier cowboy used to play alto with one of the j...

How could you smash my little bit of happiness

The content Japanese mother of two had just harshly denounced her husband, for screwing the housemaid, with "How could you smash my little bit of happiness?" She had been a loyal wife, dealing with her husband's frequent innocent interactions with attractive younger piano student women to earn his salary. Her handsome husband taught  horny ovulating factory worker students who wanted to give the husband a healthier child than the crippled girl he already had. Virginia  Morell wrote about Male animals killing the offspring of other female animals so male could mate and push his DNA through to next generation. She called it reproductive success even if it involved slaughtering helpless baby animals. So, quite bluntly, a handicapped girl with crutches is NOT a reproductive success!   Korean film producer Cho sun hee seemed to believe that humans are just animals as the young maid wanted to kill/poison wife and children of the stunned attractive Japanese Piano teacher. ...

Zane Gray Oldie But Goodie

Still trying to figure out how NDMA Zantac(Heartburn drug) negligence network advertisement interrupted this nostalgic Western involving an Italian Tailor played by Danny Thomas and a loose canon trail rider played by James Coburn.  Danny Thomas versus James Coburn in duel. Grape picker tailor  trail riders hands driver  son became a trail hand . Two bullets. Bronson cowered in duel with Thomas. Seth Robson lawyer. Trail riders disrupting until another cattle drive. Cards gambling saloon. Gino Pelleti wins the duel with cowering character played by "tough guy" Coburn cowers in the dirt begging for his life. Trail riders destroy fabric Fire tear provoke a duel Son fights trail riders bobcat  father concerned loss of honor/respect from his son. Trail riders rob drunks  for cash and then gamble away their winnings in Saloon. Tailor make a Black suit for his own funeral, but town lawyer Robson creates rules where each guy has only two bullets in his gun.

What could this Western have to do with IRS Tax Relief Commercial?

Caring husband Adam Larkin stole $2000 in gold to help out his growing family and pregnant wife, The sod-buster felt like a failure as a farmer trying to provide for his growing family,  He first tried to take out an honest loan, but was rejected as a bad risk and a borrower with no collateral. Sounds very much like modern times where borrowers have to P ROVE TO THE BANK THEY DON'T ACTUALLY NEED THE LOAN IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE LOAN.  The manager of the bank that was ripped off noted Mr Larkin's horse had a Spanish Bit and there were only two known people in the region with those type of equine mouthpieces! This was the only piece of evidence that busted the novice bank robber in this 36 minute Zane Grey TV Show. About 10 of those minutes were commercials for IRS Tax Relief. One Scofflaw claimed his IRS debt of 102,000 dollars was completely cleared. What was left out is he probably had to declare bankruptcy after paying the company around $15,000 in fees. This film was Ll...

Mid 1960 decade Soap Opera

So for this very partial Movie review of the 1966 film titled The Group featuring actresses Joanna Pettet, Shirley Knight, and Jessica Walter , this writer will ignore punctuation and just list thoughts and observations in a stream of consciousness way. I doubt Anthony Livingston Hall could care less. The movie was a little rushed at the beginning with the GROUP OF 8  college graduating girls bonding during the movies credits at an exclusive girls school. It is the film adaptation of a novel by Mary McCarthy Hagman wedding ceremony priest not observed facially but you could hear his voice which may have been dubbed in to minimize movie budget Who thinks of honeymoons these days especially if you already had one Wedding breakfast from bathtub.  Left leg blocks supple erotic pouting right breast. Another scene verbal sexual intercourse Narrow waist tapering legs Scientific fact women are more sensuous the nerve endings are closer to the skin surface. See th...

Tooth Picks in the Keyhole and Grass Brownies

So the addict and drug dealer played by Al Pacino sneaks into the hospital after visiting hours have ended, and makes friends with an artist/addict named Helen. She was trying to rehab, but was spending a lot of time with the affable addict who was still using and selling injectable addictive substances like heroin. The movie about Needle Park in NYC was a little too lax about the dangers of addiction featuring way too many scenes showing off Pacino's handsomely infectious smile. One scene involved a druggie burglar who bragged about putting toothpicks in Apartment door locks so the thief could hear the tenant entering, giving the substance abuser a chance to get away with stolen goods that would help him support his life threatening habit. From a Movie Review perspective, I wonder if book author James Mills intended for the film to have such a laid back and mellow message to young viewers who might be battling alcohol and drug dependency?  The EVERYTHING IS OK ideology work...
