The Washington WhiteSkins

Remember the name of the 69 year old Injun(I  mean native American)Suzan Harjo. She, along with other plaintiffs, were responsible for the following action by the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office:

The U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office cancelled the federal trademarks for the Washington Redskins after ruling that the name was "disparaging to Native Americans."

While no court has ruled that the Washington REDSKINS have to change their name, Daniel Snyder the team owner will be under extreme financial pressure to rename his team in a fashion that does not offend the "sensibilities" of Suzan Harjo.

To give one more insight into Harjo's notion of injustice, she was involved in the banning of the University of Oklahoma mascot Little Red. Read her description of the Redskin football game she attended in 1974. She never really coherently described what her grievances were and why she finds the name Redskin offensive.

It may be as simple as she is still pissed off that White men took over her country. Perhaps Daniel Snyder should rename his team The Washington WhiteSkins.
