Unequivocally Ann

It is pretty clear that Ann Coulter does not understand evolution well enough to excoriate it as she does in her magnum opus titled The Church of Liberalism  subtitled Godless. Coulter, sporting an exceptional vocabulary and enormous intellect, makes some fantastic arguments against abortion and how "politically neutral aliens" visiting our planet would construe liberalism as the most influential and powerful religion on our planet!

However, she should be charged with amphiboly and equivocation on some of the clever, intended high impact phrases she turns. Ann would predictably counter that this is exactly what liberals do to advance their distorted views. She is right, but she less frequently does the same thing.

OK, it is for example time. As you can see from the pic of page 225 in Godless, she writes "Your parents are slugs and then suddenly--but totally at random--you evolve into a gecko and your brother evolves into a shark blah, blah.

A few sentences down, Coulter  declares "This happened completely by chance." Her incredulity drips off this last sentence! Ann does not understand the sense in which chance(random) are related to mutations which is behind evolutionary change. Mutations do happen by chance and over incomprehensibly  long periods of time may give rise to the appearance of design in the organisms that inhabit this planet. Evolution as a process is directionless. It is a cold fact of our existence with no discernible teleology or intent.

Her "explanation" that God is responsible for life is not satisfactory for most scientists. Her book is a noteworthy font for common sense old fashion conservatism. Geniuses make mistakes too Ann. Thanks for your book.

  1. Millenial Sam Eaton has profound disdain for organized religion and Church. I can't say that I blame him. Gossip, backstabbing and other types of unpleasant activities that go on in work place break rooms, are common place in many houses of the Lord
