Auto Zone Truck converted to Government Vehicle

The military institute in Roswell New Mexico is on the National Register of Historic Places. We felt more like taking a free drive by or through if we could find NMMI officials to give us the dollar tour on this hot, extremely windy Thursday afternoon. The other option was the UFO museum so we wasted little time before eventually ending up on College Drive headed East to intersection of Main which is southwest corner of our destination.


WELL LUCKY US!! We got stuck behind a government truck number 13 with a driver in training who was moving a little faster than above average walking speed! This government vehicle was formerly an Auto Zone freight or delivery truck if you look at the failed attempt by government to remove the Auto Zone logo.

We were hoping the slow poke would turn into the Stripes convenient store and ask for directions since he seemed lost.  More accurately the driving instructor may have been confused about his whereabouts. We did eventually arrive and park close to majestic looking structure with massively large clock(don't even think about misspelling clock here you perverts)

So we could not find anybody to answer questions about the Coast Guard Preparatory program that my nephew was interested in. Understandable because of Covid and maybe also because it was 5:30

The Clerk has your Gasoline Receipt

How many times on a cold or rainy day have you gotten the following message at the gas pump indicating you have to enter the convenience store in order to pick up your receipt for gasoline purchase? The last thing anybody wants to see from a credit card purchase gas pump is a message stating that the clerk has the receipt! On this particular day, I was already late to pick up our daughter from day care and did not have time to walk into AllSups to pick up receipt from the convenience store attendant. Did I say CONVENIENCE store!? I think many roadside convenience stores intentionally do not reload the receipt paper rolls in order to force customers into their establishment. Once inside, customer may buy a lottery ticket, cigarettes, beer, condom, etc. Many patrons need the gas receipts either to be reimbursed by their employer or for their IRS tax itemization. Gas stations doing this are in violation of some law. Not many of have the time to file a lawsuit against gas

Homeowner's Tree dangerously Blocking Stop Sign

 As I far as I know code enforcement has contacted the female you see in the picture below regarding a huge front yard tree that is blocking a stop sign at a busy four way intersection.  She would be in violation of laws dealing with obstructing traffic signs in any other city. She resides at 113 West Deming Zip code 88203 in Roswell New Mexico. You can see how dangerous her uncut and untrimmed huge tree is at the corner of South Richardson and Deming in the picture below. I am sure she has received a lot of stimulus money as well as unemployment payments from Uncle Sam so I know she has the cash to cover the costs of cutting the hazardous tree down to size!! I worked for code enforcement in Midland Texas and they would have warned this homeowner once and the then fined her for neglect and threatening the general welfare of the public.
