Hazardous Egress caused by property owner on sidewalk affixed to his lot

 Sidewalks are public passageways, but many property owners believe they can assemble on sidewalks or treat the sidewalk as an extension of their property.

The following picture shows a property owner routing a hazardous electrical extension cord across cement walkway to supply energy to his Stellar Trailer. Our daughter plays Hopscotch during the day, but erases the chalk marks and gets out of the way when pedestrians approach, BUT the owner of this trailer illegally leaves electrical cord laying on a sometimes wet sidewalk ALL NIGHT LONG Lionel Richie!!! 

I do know that in Naperville, Illinois, you would be fined for doing this, but the owner of this property at 1309 Sorrento Drive in Roswell NM does not seem to care that the dangerously placed cord could easily trip and injure his neighbors. We observed a police officer drive by who obviously noticed the hazardously placed extension cord. He patrolled right on by without blinking an eye.  

The owner of trailer who carelessly, thoughtlessly, and inconsiderately did this should consider the commentary of the the following NYC landlord:

I told him no because 1) it looks trashy to have an extension cord running across a sidewalk all the time, and I don't want to look out my window and see it and 2) more importantly, I worry that someone will come along and "trip" over the cord, then sue me for their pain and suffering. Frivolous lawsuits are a thing.



No person, either individually or in a group or a crowd, shall stand, sit, loaf or loiter or engage in any sport or exercise on any public street or sidewalk in a way that will prevent or block the free passage of pedestrian  traffic thereon or to prevent or hinder free ingress or egress to or from any place of business or amusement, church, public hall or meeting place.

The Clerk has your Gasoline Receipt

How many times on a cold or rainy day have you gotten the following message at the gas pump indicating you have to enter the convenience store in order to pick up your receipt for gasoline purchase? The last thing anybody wants to see from a credit card purchase gas pump is a message stating that the clerk has the receipt! On this particular day, I was already late to pick up our daughter from day care and did not have time to walk into AllSups to pick up receipt from the convenience store attendant. Did I say CONVENIENCE store!? I think many roadside convenience stores intentionally do not reload the receipt paper rolls in order to force customers into their establishment. Once inside, customer may buy a lottery ticket, cigarettes, beer, condom, etc. Many patrons need the gas receipts either to be reimbursed by their employer or for their IRS tax itemization. Gas stations doing this are in violation of some law. Not many of have the time to file a lawsuit against gas

Homeowner's Tree dangerously Blocking Stop Sign

 As I far as I know code enforcement has contacted the female you see in the picture below regarding a huge front yard tree that is blocking a stop sign at a busy four way intersection.  She would be in violation of laws dealing with obstructing traffic signs in any other city. She resides at 113 West Deming Zip code 88203 in Roswell New Mexico. You can see how dangerous her uncut and untrimmed huge tree is at the corner of South Richardson and Deming in the picture below. I am sure she has received a lot of stimulus money as well as unemployment payments from Uncle Sam so I know she has the cash to cover the costs of cutting the hazardous tree down to size!! I worked for code enforcement in Midland Texas and they would have warned this homeowner once and the then fined her for neglect and threatening the general welfare of the public.
