Another Surprise Medical Bill from Out of State

It is common knowledge around the World that health care in the United States is grossly unfair and predatory. Many Americans are now FORCED to work well beyond their planned retirement to make ends meet regarding exorbitant bills from low quality surgeons and doctors.

We received this bill from High Plains Radiological Association(HPRA) in Amarillo,Texas. It was impossible to figure out where they came up with the $45 balance due if you examine the payments/adjustments amount in the itemization. Moreover a patient has no way of knowing what any medical procedure costs these days forcing us to all just trust the greedy physicians and insurance companies.

It gets worse. The Echography and X-rays were done at a Lovelace Regional in New Mexico and we get a friggin bill from Texas location 60 days later!!! You would think a town the size of Santa Fe would have the resources to not have send it to Amarillo to be interpreted!!!!!!

kristi howe, tina pfeifer,Aaron Floyd,Sierra Davis,L Songate,Sarah Tyner Weber all have similar complaints and issues regarding erroneous billing or not bill at all prior to being sent to collections. A friend of ours in Oklahoma said that often the referring physician is not honest or up front about medical service rendered being outsourced to these clowns in Texas. You all would save yourself a lot of trouble if yous would just accept the money BCBS gives you for the 3-5 minutes it takes you to interpret the diagnostic work. Class actions lawsuits are easy to file. Plenty of eager law school grads looking for their first big payday.

  1. Much thanks to Somerset Academy in Miramar, Florida for making our 2nd grader feel welcome and more secure in general as a young human being. For some reason your post reminded of this?!

Julie Stirrup and Mark Evans both expound upon the importance of getting past baby talk, which has limited value, on to rapid socialization for kiddos as young as 5. I know it sounds cruel, but I vehemently agree!!!

  3. Santa Fe newspaper man Patrick Malone wrote about a corporate hospital overbilling scheme were admissions were inflated to embezzle unearned money for treatments not administered back 2014

Arkansas native Randal Seyler produces excellent reportage regarding low grade medical scare and inflated scam billing.

Emre Yedidag, M.D filed a lawsuit after blowing the whistle on a corrupt surgeon colleague at a hospital in Roswell NM. It dealt with Review Organization Immunity Act (the ROIA) peer review at Eastern New Mexico Medical center.

Colleen Heild / JOURNAL INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER disclosed widespread medicaid and medicaire fraud and bogus financial accounting with no independent auditing.

A licensed social worker reports there are ethical standards that we have to maintain. I felt as though me following those guidelines got me into conflict with the medical director and Sunrise director. The pay was good but the management staff was not supportive. I was frequently and aggressively brought into the directors office and scolded as if I was just a kid. If I would advocate for a patient I was told I was being divisive and insubordinate ENMMC supervisors

    Pros-NONE

Leadership in Radiology is non existent. The director takes everything as humorous, assistant director calls in sick majority of the time yet still collects a salary, and despicable behavior is allowed within the department. “Doing the least amount of work” is the goal of the department. Limited equipment and it is mostly broken. The pay is the lowest in eastern New Mexico.

Human Resources does not support employees, has very questionable practices and is dishonest and rude. I have seen many people treated unjustly by HR and senior administration. Much of the staff are not only unsupportive of each other, but actually try to get their coworkers in trouble. I have seen staff go as far as telling flat out lies to get coworkers in trouble

    1. Does Neil Binderman have problems with the medical billing as well? I know filed a lawsuit against NG Trucking for being too loud and the case was dismissed as frivolous a little birdie told me. Neil and Brandon Beverly were both employed by RPD and had grievances that were also deemed without basis.

Binderman may have been the guy griping about the alleyway being shut down as a path that was connecting cielo grande and spring river. If he was the irritable former detective should just move the hell out of chaves county!!!

    2. No that was Richard Hesse who has a relatively minor worry about the disruption that could happen in his neighborhood if the city proceeds with a plan to use the alley between Wyoming Avenue and the Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River to connect the Cielo Grande and Spring River trails.

  4. Big time thanks to Rick Bukata, MD for calling out his own kind for fraudulent, systemic billing schemes!

The pith of the physicians is more or less what this article intimates:

An ill human being who has insurance nervously enters Hospital for care, believing they are covered and then gets an astronomical bill that they sends them into shock. The Insurance companies blame the medical professionals, the doctors/hospital blame the insurance companies, and the sick person gets overbilled by BCBS,Ambetter, Aetna, Cigna or some other blood sucking scum.

    1. Would love to hear how stress minimization expert Melissa Heisler reduces the anxiety of unfair, unjust, unethical, immoral, and just F...cking wrong bankruptcy inducing medical bills.

A mind numbing orgasm from a vibrator or being handcuffed by a virile well endowed professional athlete would be a start.
