City Councils exceeding their inherent Power

The arrogance and ignorance of city councils around the United States is quite shocking. According to David Postman, Local officials can't override governor's order. Yet Snohomish County Washington state, elected Sheriff Adam Fortney announced defiantly on social media he would not enforce the governor’s stay at home order. Also I have no idea why commissioner  Clint Didier believes his opinion on the matter exceeds the governor of our great state.

Way further south in the Wild West town of Roswell,NM six of the ten councilors, including a very vocal and ill informed Baptist preacher illegally are flouting the stay at home and DO NOT DINE OUT orders (LAW) of Governor Grisham.  A former FBI agent Mayor is being strangely silent on a matter that will only increase the infection rate of Corona Virus!!!  I read the preacher gave it a run in Artesia, because it did not work out so well in the UFO capital. At least councilors Judy Stubbs and Angela Moore had the sense to vote against the country bumpkins who seem to be in control of the lame position of the majority!

Also Tulsa, Oklahoma newscast  uses the phrase "more restrictive" governor policy than the municipalities. This suggests that if a city council policy is "less restrictive " than than governor orders, then the CITY COUNCIL IS IN VIOLATION OF THE LAWS and subject to punitive action by the state!!

The Clerk has your Gasoline Receipt

How many times on a cold or rainy day have you gotten the following message at the gas pump indicating you have to enter the convenience store in order to pick up your receipt for gasoline purchase? The last thing anybody wants to see from a credit card purchase gas pump is a message stating that the clerk has the receipt! On this particular day, I was already late to pick up our daughter from day care and did not have time to walk into AllSups to pick up receipt from the convenience store attendant. Did I say CONVENIENCE store!? I think many roadside convenience stores intentionally do not reload the receipt paper rolls in order to force customers into their establishment. Once inside, customer may buy a lottery ticket, cigarettes, beer, condom, etc. Many patrons need the gas receipts either to be reimbursed by their employer or for their IRS tax itemization. Gas stations doing this are in violation of some law. Not many of have the time to file a lawsuit against gas

Homeowner's Tree dangerously Blocking Stop Sign

 As I far as I know code enforcement has contacted the female you see in the picture below regarding a huge front yard tree that is blocking a stop sign at a busy four way intersection.  She would be in violation of laws dealing with obstructing traffic signs in any other city. She resides at 113 West Deming Zip code 88203 in Roswell New Mexico. You can see how dangerous her uncut and untrimmed huge tree is at the corner of South Richardson and Deming in the picture below. I am sure she has received a lot of stimulus money as well as unemployment payments from Uncle Sam so I know she has the cash to cover the costs of cutting the hazardous tree down to size!! I worked for code enforcement in Midland Texas and they would have warned this homeowner once and the then fined her for neglect and threatening the general welfare of the public.
