Under Pressure Oil Field Workers Creating Hazardous Driving Conditions

We used to take Highway 285 south out of Artesia New Mexico all the way down to Fort Stockton so we would have easy stretch of interstate driving on I10 to San Antonio.

NO MORE. Unsafe commercial vehicles and tired Oil Field workers have turned our family vacation into too much stress. We feel like we are risking our lives to take that stretch of beat up road in Lea County.

John L. Smith(that L. is necessary to distinguish John in Google Searches), writing out of Lovington, describes it as the stench of imminent danger. Commercial truckers knocking down six figure salaries have deadlines to meet which sometimes entails risky driving.

Dakota Lujan and Nygel Key of Fritch Texas lost their lives near Hobbs NM and traffic deaths are disproportionately high. What to do? All these extra high paying jobs are great, but what about all the highway fatalities caused by chasing after that almighty dollar!!

Not blaming all this on the 18 wheelers. There are the usual number of drunk high school kids, but that will never change. You see memorial crosses all over the place when driving on our nation's roads.
