The Land of Manana

I always thought that any enterprise or place of business that had the name of the county as part of its name would be an upstanding and efficient operation. I leaned differently when dealing with Chaves County Door and Supply Roswell New Mexico.

We spend almost our entire Summer there looking after our rental properties and being Grandparents for my wife's vacationing daughter and her family. About a week ago we needed some upgrades on our metal doors and frames for multiple dwellings.

Spoke with a friendly lady named Nancy who wrote down our information and assured us she would get back with us early next day. We had not heard from her by noon. We decided that was not a good sign reasoning that if she did not have time to call us back, then the rest of the experience would be slow and unacceptable.

We went to ACE hardware and got everything we needed for very reasonable prices. I can only conclude the county named door business did not care or is making more money from bigger jobs.

  1. They are a friendly group of people, BUT AWFUL ABOUT FOLLOWING UP and about as bad with their overall customer service. I think they may have some easy money with locked-in long term contracts with Chaves County. So if you just walk in with a door hinge problem, Door Binding in Upper Corner, Latch Missing the Strike Plate, worn out weather stripping, squeaking door, etc they kinda give you the ARE YOU KIDDING ME LOOK and look in the direction of Home Depot with a sarcastic wink.

You could try going to a city council meeting to find out if their contracts with the county are anti competitive or in violation of fair business practices.

I think they should just be honest and put a no walk-in coustomer sign up as a courtesy since they just waste your time by not being professional.
