Alien City School Principal Swapping

Dr. Ann Lynn Mcllroy is playing musical principals. The newly minted superintendent decided to rotate principals to different schools. This bolt from the blue caught many educators off guard. Break room gossip was high intensity and many teachers are concerned they will be displaced from supportive colleagues.

She did not give any easy to understand explanation for this unsettling decision, nor was there any indication she was going to make such a radical administrative decision. Some of the older more established principals indicated that would resign rather than have to get used to new system and environment.

Experienced RISD admins and staff are still scratching their heads trying to figure out her motivation. Some Roswell Independent School District veteran teachers believe Doctor Ann was being sensitive and not wanting to hurt the feelings of any thin-skinned school leaders.

Was somewhat shocked that Alison Penn(doing her job for newspaper) had to write an article dealing with first amendment rights be violated and RACISM. Emily Valencia thinks risd policy sucks supportive teachers out of the classroom.

The superintendent emailed Ruben Bolanos, pulling him away from his principal position for the Coyotes and making him cozy up to local businesses as a "community partnership liason"

A lot of kids cried and whined that their best friend was being unfairly terminated, but being buddies with the students is not the same thing as being academically fair-minded. Mona Kirk was stiff lipped probably wishing she had never ran for school board.

Denise Dawson and Kathleen Gallaway, not surprisingly, supported Mcllroy's restructuring.

Pauline Ponce demanded a criminal investigation as security guards focused on her movement and slightly aggressive posture.

At the simplest level this has turned into The Whites versus the Mexicans in a town where the Hispanic Raza outnumber the White Folks. I am so glad my retirement date came before all this vicious fighting!!

  2. If you think RISD is having problems, lighten up some! Read what educreator has to say bout break room gossip and nasty back stabbing behavior!!

I’m a first year ELL teacher for my entire school district. This entails me having to service multiple schools on a daily! It has really made getting to know and get aloing with my fellow teachers extremely difficult. I’ve tried joining in on conversations in the various teacher’s lounges, but it almost always terminates with kurt one word responses or being scathingly ignored . Most days, I try to make myself feel better by saying, “I’m here for the kids, not the unfriendly teachers.” Still, I oftentimes find myself asking, “Why am I so unlikeable?” I never treat people the way I’m being treated (even people I do not know), so it’s really hard for me to just ignore it off and happily do my job. I used to consider myself a social person, but trying to engage my coworkers in any kind of conversation has just been exhausting and almost demeaning. Being the only ELL teacher in the district has left me feeling completely isolated, and to be honest, depressed beyond comprehensio. I always wondered why there was so much turnover before I entered the teaching profession. NOW I KNOW!!!

    1. Dr Nicola Davies wrote a bunch about work place back stabbing misanthropes.

Some of the excellent points she made are:

They can make a show about being friends with your, yet indulge in toxic, venomous gossip about you.

Through vicious rumours and distored truths they can damage your reputation, integrity, and professional reputation.

Dr Nicola Davies has nice round tush. Would like to hook up with her. I bet she is a screamer.
