Free Video Editor Alert

Just a warning or caveat emptor for all you COVID-19 forced new online educators who are looking for a bare bones free video editor for your lessons in Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Math etc.

I googled for a free minimum functionality video editor and AVS produced by online media technologies was one of the first hits. The download and installation went smoothly. So I opened an instructional video I had created hoping I could insert captions and text boxes as additional guidance for confused students.

So I loaded this video into the AVS app and all looked well. Then the disaster: I was at the desired location in the video where I wanted to insert text boxes to clarify the lesson. WHAM , when I clicked the text box element to insert at specific spot in video, I GOT BOMBED BY THIS STUPID ASS Xmas video that I could not get rid of!!  Good riddance AVS. Still searching for a true freed skeleton function video editor!!!

The Clerk has your Gasoline Receipt

How many times on a cold or rainy day have you gotten the following message at the gas pump indicating you have to enter the convenience store in order to pick up your receipt for gasoline purchase? The last thing anybody wants to see from a credit card purchase gas pump is a message stating that the clerk has the receipt! On this particular day, I was already late to pick up our daughter from day care and did not have time to walk into AllSups to pick up receipt from the convenience store attendant. Did I say CONVENIENCE store!? I think many roadside convenience stores intentionally do not reload the receipt paper rolls in order to force customers into their establishment. Once inside, customer may buy a lottery ticket, cigarettes, beer, condom, etc. Many patrons need the gas receipts either to be reimbursed by their employer or for their IRS tax itemization. Homeowner's Tree dangerously Blocking Stop Sign

 As I far as I know code enforcement has contacted the female you see in the picture below regarding a huge front yard tree that is blocking a stop sign at a busy four way intersection.  She would be in violation of laws dealing with obstructing traffic signs in any other city. She resides at 113 West Deming Zip code 88203 in Roswell New Mexico. You can see how dangerous her uncut and untrimmed huge tree is at the corner of South Richardson and Deming in the picture below. I am sure she has received a lot of stimulus money as well as unemployment payments from Uncle Sam so I know she has the cash to cover the costs of cutting the hazardous tree down to size!! I worked for code enforcement in Midland Texas and they would have warned this homeowner once and the then fined her for neglect and threatening the general welfare of the public.
