The Dreaded Doctor's Waiting Room

Long waits in Doctor's waiting rooms have become more of a symbol of life in America than the so called American Dream of owning a home and settling down. The cartoon you see below of the elderly gentlemen waiting to see a doctor where he states "there is nothing wrong with me now, but by the time I see the physician I will be sick!, is so common to the lifestyle of the average USA citizen these days.

An Asian friend of my sisters told me her mother went to see a GP in Roswell New Mexico after having left a doctor she really liked in Albuquerque or maybe Santa Fe named Maria Rodriguez . Before she could even schedule an appointment, she had to fill out a lengthy and tedious form BY HAND since the doctor was not technologically savvy enough to have an online form to so the patient could more conveniently type in the medical history etc.

Mom patiently waited in line for over two hours only to be told she would have to reschedule!!! Being new to the United States and not wanting to vent her anger, she rescheduled with Doctor Vega and had to wait 7 weeks to see her again. You guessed it! Same thing happened with the added frustration that she had not filled out form properly and had to drive home to get the info before the medical clinic closed. Mom has no doubt that her new Doctor is competent, but this speaks to a health care crisis that exists in the US which ranks much lower than many other countries after many years of being on top worldwide.

Many doctors get delayed by patients are afraid of side issues like weather Talcum Powder causes ovarian cancer. This is because scumbag lawyers are making money off of creating fear where there is nothing to fear!
