VP consolidation goal of creating better student Experience
The president at a community college in southeastern New Mexico is recommending a personnel change to "improve student outcomes". This change involves turning two vice presidents into a single VP which will remove one salary and expensive health care benefits from the University Budget, but REMEMBER this is all about improving completion and persistence and STUDENT OUTCOMES.
It has nothing to do with the fact that more money will be freed up to increase salaries of other employees including the the high man on the totem pole. In fact, President Shawn Powell said the whole thing was planned by the employees and would not lead to the firing of any workers. In this age of work place violence, any removal of high paying positions has to be considered carefully and appropriate security measures taken when that pink slip comes.
So that must mean that neither the vice president of academic affairs nor the VP of student affairs will be terminated. One of them will be wearing a new hat at the same salary level?
Recruitment, admissions, and enrollment constantly have to be examined to produce optimal bottom line results and the ENMU-Roswell Boss is the man for that challenging task!

Is that the same town with the military institute called NMMI? I knew a cadet there named Nicholas Lesperance. A mommy's boy. His mother was tougher than his Dad and fought all of NIcky's fights. One day when the kid is in his mid twenties without a decent job, he may have wished Mommy should not have cried and whined when Nicholas was not cutting which was a lot of the time!!
ReplyDeleteThe new high school principal is a gentleman from Lake Arthur! I heard that many NMMI faculty applied, but because of nasty office politics and the history of clashes of each of those involved it was better to hire from outside.
DeleteThere have been numerous protests from community hospitals, doctors and dentists that cadets are not paying their bills. I don't blame those kids one bit for NOT paying unfairly priced medical bills. Parents already have health insurance when their kiddos come to the Institute and then the greedy hospitals and physicians bill insurance for way more money than they deserve!!!
OMG, then you probably know cadet Cordell Breen! Was absolutely shocked to hear that NMMI hired him as a Special Projects Analyst. He was always looking to cheat in some of the classes I had with him. He would hang with some people in the slab and then rat on them about crap that he was doing too!! Drinking or whatever. No big deal about the alcohol problems, but dont tattle tell like a little bitch. I just know he is NOT qualified to be working in the Deans office for any job that requires sound reasoning and uncompromising character blah blah blah

I think Breen and Laurhen Parvin were buddies at NMMI. She was a cheerleader from San Antonio. Cordell had her going out of town on these recruiting trips. He ignored the fact she was very weak academically not vetting it the way he should have with the English teachers in Lea Hall or Dr Baca in the economics department. She was a big Houston Texan football fan and wanted to sleep with the Black quarterback Watson. She was respected as a leader in the Corps and knew those black boys accused of rape were lured in by the horny underaged white girl. The black cadet males were never convicted of a crime. The white girl wanted that throbbing long hard BLACK jack hammer, but it was too much so she screamed rape after they gave her the high hard one! Her parents yanked her ass out of the military institute
DeleteAnother loser who went to the Institute was Tyler "Oprah Winfrey" Winfree. He as there because he was not good enough to be accepted directly to Air Force Academy or maybe Merchant Marines.

He left without permission to have rough sex at spring break with a female, maybe a male, in Dallas and caught the virus and got put in the school Hospital. That just made his anger and anxiety like explode to the moon and back. He was insecure and mad about everything. Really doubt his whining would be put up with in the military and he sure as hell aint a leader!!!
T. W. left the school without permission to go to Dallas, Texas for a wrestling competition. Why do you even care if he is gay? I agree he is high strung and probably on meds for bi polar disorder. I think his Dad was rough on him maybe. Winfree held grudges against cadets and TLAs he felt slighted him and let it boil over a few times.
DeleteHe does make a lot of excuses and play the blame game quite a bit. He needs to fix that or he won't get along at the military academys.
He did act like the military school in Roswell New Mexico was there to cater whatever the hell he wanted. Regimental Staff broke the little punk of that bad habit. His meds controlled his anger management issues but him being quarantined put him in really bad mood because he never would admit it WAS WRONG OF HIM to have abandoned his responsibilities to the CORPS and his academics.
He is not the first to come there who needed an atitude adjustment. Maybe he was use to being a badass in high school and then he gets to NMMI and is just another guy with a buzzed haircut!!
Tyler has potential to be special, but a start would be to not think he is so special. He never respected High School leadership and like you said was probably disappointed he had to come to NMMI to begin with.
Do any of you know if detective Mark Mahone taught law enforcement courses at ENMU-R? He was a neighbor of a friend of ours. Officer Mahone was bipolar according to our friend sometimes hassling people for things out of his job description, jurisdiction ,purview etc. Sometimes a polite guy other times a control freak who would pull over people for no reason!!

I know Connie Davis Trent and nurse Megan Glass respect the homicide detective's efforts for RPD, but they should tell him his is just another guy in the neighborhood and especially at the intersection of Chrysler and Montana Streets where he has been known to aggressively hassle boyfriend girlfriend fights or people just doing daily stuff around their houses!!!
